PEEL Paragraph

Rimu is the best syndicate at TIS.

Rimu is the best syndicate at TIS because we are independent workers and we are always trying our best. Firstly, when we are given something to do we finish it no matter how we finish as long as it is finished, for example our homework we can finish it early to get ahead in class to do more work. Secondly, we are always putting our all in, for example, in Ultimate Relay we will try our best and win. Thirdly, we try our best to strike fear into all our competitors so we can over through them in all competitions, for example we do our Rimu chant as proud and as loud as we can. Over all that is why I think Rimu is the best syndicate in TIS, because we work as one and try our best to thrive to the top.

PEEL Paragraph

Being a mum is easy.

Being a mum is easy, you only have to clean your house and look after your children. Firstly, the easiest time to take care of your kids is when they are about 10 - 11, ages above 11 should me a bit more mature and should be easier to control. Secondly, cleaning the house that includes vacuuming, hanging up the washing and also cooking, that's where your kids come in you can ask them politely to help you and maybe if they don't probably just ban their xbox or PS3. At last you can use your polite manners to ask your oldest to look after your children because you should "Trust them." If your kids get into a fight you should never go in as nice mum always go in a as the mean mum because if you are a nice mum they won't take it seriously. Wow, on second thought being a mum is actually very hard, I think my mum does a wonderful job even though she banned me off my xbox.

PEEL

Mr Diver is a successful principal because he is always on task and is very intelligent and not too strict. Firstly, he gets everything finished on the day is is due. Mr Brian Diver takes the time to leave a comment on all of the students reports. Secondly, he knows almost all of the 1200 students at our schools names that takes a lot intelligence to memorise all those names. Even though Mr Diver is a principal and is supposed to be strict he tries not to, Mr Diver is actually a very kind person if it wasn't for him some of the students would be soaking wet. He let most of the students use his umbrella when they where getting wet. Overall, Mr Brian Diver is a very intelligent and on task principal. I think the Board of Trustees chose the right guy for the job!

Election Day Rules

When is election day?
Election day is on the 20th of September 2014

What hours can you vote on election day?
You may vote from 9:00 - 7:00 then you may not vote.

What date does this year’s election officially end?
The election ends on the 4th of October because that is the announcement of everything.

Why is there a gap between election day and when the election ends?
So they have time to count the votes or find out who has more seats in the Parliament.

Summarise each of these rules for election day in your own words.

MMP (Mixed Member Proportional)

The MMP system is the voting system that we are currently using in New Zealand. This system allows each voter to have 2 votes. The first vote is for the political party the voter chooses. This is called the party vote and it decides the total number of seats each political party gets in Parliament. The second vote is to choose the MP the voter wants to represent the electorate they live in. This is called the electorate vote. The candidate who gets the most votes wins. They do not have to get more than half the votes. What other countries has MMP been used in? MMP has been used is Germany for more than sixty years. What are some other names for MMP? MMP is sometimes known as AMS in the United Kingdom, AMS stands for Additional Member System. Parties are allowed to have something called a coalition, a coalition is a temporarily alliance. So all votes each party gets will add up and be the same votes for them as a group.

Civilian Party

Make Wellington airport safer by moving it to Christchurch. Defend the traditional institution of marriage as the union between one man and one volumetric flask. Reform the Justice system so that every citizen is required to prove why they shouldn’t be in prison. Issue a formal apology to Australia’s aboriginal population. Maintain New Zealand’s long-term commitment to free nuclear energy.
9 Rules to make your own party: Acceptable party names, 500 eligible members, statuary declarations, party membership rules and candidate selection rules, auditor, party secretory, processing an application  and the decision process, ongoing registration and ongoing compliance.
Business start off party.

Policies

Nationals policies:
National will boost defence spending by $535 million over four years of Budget 2014.
I think this is mostly a good policy because it is providing the police better weaponry and armoury.

National will maintain the Racing Safety Development Fund giving $1 million a year to race clubs around the country.
This is a bad policy because they are providing a race club with money they do not need. Why spend money on things that will not improve our country nor people.

National will give every school high quality ultra-fast broadband and faster broadband to ensure every student can benefit from technology to achieve their best.
I think this will effect us a lot and will improve the learning speed for people who would like to find something that is important.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Labour policies:
Labour will reduce the average size of secondary school classes from 26+ down to 23.
There is a bad and a good policy with this one. They are saving money by making classes smaller but they are spending the money they saved on new and more classes.
Labour will ensure quality care for older New Zealanders with fair pay for aged care workers.
This is a bad thing because most senior citizens are very wealthy.
Labour will provide free annual health checks for people with an intellectual disability.
This is a very effective policy, it is really helpful for the parents and teachers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Internet MANA policies:

Internet mana think it’s not good enough to just have a job the hours of work and pay per hour are equally important for a family to have a decent standard of living. Internet MANA would work to stabilise hours of work and increase the minimum wage from the $14.25 an hour at present to the living wage, currently $18.80. We would peg the minimum wage at two-thirds of the average wage to prevent it dropping dangerously in the future as it has done in recent decades.
This is a bad policy because if they carry on spending money on their employees that means they could run out of money and get shut down.

  • Every home and business would have cheaper, faster Internet to reap the 21st century benefits of new technology and the Internet for families and businesses. This will eliminate the “digital divide” whereby those on low incomes do not have ready access to the Internet compared to the rest of the community. Internet MANA will invest $50 million over 5 years to give Internet access to all New Zealanders who can’t otherwise afford it. A further $200 million over 5 years will fund community-led investment in improving Internet access for households outside the main cities.
This is very effective policy because some people can loose their jobs if they do not (Email back, create the presentation).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Phrases/words I don't understand:
National will maintain.
maintain = cause or effect.
National will cause or effect something that is going to happen.
Internet MANA will invest.
invest = putting money into finance schemes.
Internet MANA will put money into finance schemes.
We would peg the minimum wage.
peg = a point or limit on a scale especially on exchange rates.
wage = a fixed regular payment.
We would find the point or limit on exchange rates and we will fix the regular payment.
Why do we have time zones?
Army Dialogue
"GET BEHIND COVER!" the general yelled.
"I AM TRYING MY BEST!" yelled back the rookie.
"Ok we need to gather the rest of the survivors and retreat.....NOW!" yelled the general over the gunshots and explosions.
"No problem sir," answered the rookie.
"Men gather up over!" pronounced the general over the walky-talky.
"Sir I think there are no survivors besides us and the enemy," states the rookie.
"Rookie we've got to leave, we can not stay here and die," shouted the general.
"But sir!" the rookie announced.
"No buts!" snapped the general.
"We've got to leave now!" the general snapped again.
Story Writing
I have been in South Africa for a long and lovely 10 years now, I have really enjoyed spending time with my lovely family. My two brothers Henry and Michael, are going to be heading home with me back to New Zealand. I was at the airport just about to board when they asked me for my passport, I said "Sure no problem!" I reached in to my pocked and found, that there was a hole in it! I tried my best to find it, but I couldn't it's like it grew to legs and ran away. Because I lost my passport I won't be able to head back home, I need my passport to fly back to New Zealand. I went looking for it again, and the first place I went to was the office they could find anything there. They said that they could find it so I went looking somewhere else. I had a peculiar feeling in my stomach, that feeling was that someone was following me. This person looked like a person who knew what he was doing, but my first thought was that he was a creep following me for the fun of it. He was trying to talk to me but he was a different language, what was he trying to say? He held out his hand and in his hand was my passport I was so relieved. I said "Thank you so much!" and flew back to New Zealand.
The End.
Story Writing
I feel like I have been around on this planet for about 1000 years. I still am looking for this mysterious object I have been sent here for, I have been given these exact clues it looks like a crystal, it has a purple glow to it and is a diamond shape. I have my two companions with me, Cobble and Hope they are real close to me. Our chances of heading home are slim, the ship that we used to land on this dreadful planet is broken and no mechanic can fix it. So we had to walk quiet a far way to the closest motel, about 600 km from our shipwreck. I am searching for a crystal that provides power, we need it for our planet because at the moment our planet has no power at all.
We were yet still walking to find this crystal we heard something collapse behind us, it was a kind of... of creature with talons and a tail. We realised we have been followed this whole time has the crystal already been found? Have we been on this planet for 1000 years for nothing? The creature got up slowly talking in a weird kind of language, Cobble said that he could understand the random creature. Cobble said the creature said this before he died "Run,  run now before it is too late." I said to Cobble and Hope, "Why would we need to run?" BANG a huge spaceship was behind us shooting. So I yelled at the top of my lungs "Ruunnn!" We heard a loud voice speaking from the spaceship that for some reason I could only understand. I stopped running and listened the space ship carried on shooting and I could see that the spaceship was missing on purpose. The ship landed and the hatch opened I said to myself "Could it be?" yes it was! My parents with the crystal.
(I wasn't finished)
